NAMI Placer County, Inc. history:

Our organization began in 1978 when four families in Placer County, each with a mentally ill adult son or daughter, met and discussed their mutual problems. They found it helpful to be able to talk to someone who had experienced similar situations coping with the stress and suffering when one’s child becomes ill with a brain disease.
Named:   FOOTHILL FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR MENTAL RECOVERY.

9-10-81:   INCORPORATED  by George Osborn,
Palmer Moe, Shirley Neal, Pearl Pfeiffer, Donald Neal and Marjory Osborn  were all Directors and they incorporated # 1089474  and received 501(c)(3) status as a non-profit organization.
